Moving contacts from one list to another
Hi BBers
I have 2 contact lists on my BB and I want to merge them so I end up with a single contact list.
So I need to take all my contacts from list 1 and drop them in list 2
However I cant see any way of doing what should be a fairly simple thing I would think!
Can anyone point me in the right direction? - 03-19-2011, 11:17 AM #2
I'm not sure I have ever seen 2 contact lists on a bb... Is one of them part of a BES account or something ?

Dimmed entries are read-only
Not sure what BES is?
Anyway one was a googlemail contact list and one was a gmail contact list (in the UK googlemail became gmail fairly recently)
I backed up my contacts in the first list (using BB desktop) with a view to restoring them in the second.
The good news is that the first list has now gone.
The bad news is that the backed up contacts cant be restored!!!
It says there are 285 entries but they are dimmed, and "Dimmed entries are read-only data types and cannot be restored"
Im not sure I get why the system allows you to back things up and then not be able to restore them? In fact it worse than not backing up at all as it leads you into a false sense of security.
Does anyone know how to restore the backed up contacts, or why they are now "greyed out"...
This is driving me mad! - 05-04-2012, 05:56 AM #6
Had the same problem and I found an easier way to fix this by accident if you don't mind installing apps called Advance Os and Led Notification its free in Appworld
http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/45506
In the app option you can move delete your contact list its much easier then copy paste method hope this help
