    Default Maps in ATT 526

I went to blackberry.com/send/maps, got 6.1, it's listed in the applications as an installer but I'm not seeing how to get it going.

Blackberry maps is blocked by ATT. They want you to use their Nav program which is not free. Use google maps instead.

Maps worked fine in .246 AT&T must have figured how to block it again.

I upgraded to .526 and my BB maps work fine.

This has been reviewed in other threads. You should be able to find them easily using the forum's search feature or your favorite web search engine.

How did you get 6.1, when I go to that site I get the current version 6.0.0.31?

Go to the thread below and the "launcher" for BBMaps (blocked by AT&T) is in the first post. Just download to your phone and you'll have BBMaps on your AT&T phone:

^^ As tellsells said. I use that launcher and use BBMaps fine on .526 (have had it since .141). Gets around AT&T's blocking.

If you use QuickLaunch, there is also a feature there that allows one to open BlackBerry Maps.

You have to install Maps directly from the OS install through DM, the OTA downloads won't work. Once installed via DM, the launcher is unnecessary.

I downloaded this today and it works great. Now I have more options with BB Maps, BB Traffic, Google Maps, Wisepilot, and Mapquest App I have plenty of choices. I like how BB Maps integrates with BB Traffic.

The maps version is 0031 like yours. I got something called "installer" 6.1 at /send/maps. No clue what it is but deleting it takes the Maps icon away, so I reloaded it and the icon reappeared. If had had the time and wasn't quite so hung over I'd delete the installer again and reload maps with the DM to see if the icon came back.

I use that launcher also and noticed after my upgrade to .526 that the launcher remained but at&t took BB mapS off my device! But they did load a bunch of junk that I will not use! I have to go download BB maps again!
