Loss of SureType keyboard

Evening people,

I upgraded my 9800 yesterday and since then, I've lost the sure type ability. The keyboard appears, but it's multi tap but in a different format. I have to go into the menu, select Multi Tap and then go back in and select sure type. And I have to do this EVERYTIME I send a message.

I've gone back to my previous restore point, this hasn't helped. I've gone thru the settings and selected sure type, this hasn't worked. I am stuck and hate the full keyboard and cannot used multi tap....

Help me please I'm going mad!!!!!

Several settings affect this. Going into Options, selecting "Keyboard", setting portrait keyboard type to "Reduced" is one of them (probably what you already did). Also, under the "Typing" option, under "Portrait Keyboard" section, the style has to be set to "Predictive".

Btw, what OS build did you upgrade to and what did you have before?

Always make a backup before doing any update, then you can always go back and find the right solution. it will save you much time.

Thanks for your responses....I actually don't know what OS System I'm running, and I did back up before and I have restored it and it's made no difference?

I have the same issue after upgrading to 666. I even went rolled back to the 650 hybrid and no help. I'm on 668 now and same thing. It looks like 666 screwed up some files and I can't seem to resolve this. I think a few other posted the same issue in the 666 thread. HELP!

Have you done several battery pulls?

it's not a battery pull issue. The functionality comes back after any sort of resetting or re-saving a setting. But after the phone goes into standby, it goes into reduced keyboard multi-tap mode. Even with switching back to a hybrid and now 668, still the same.

Hi, has anyone got a fix for this yet? I have the same problem with the suretype acting as a multitap keyboard. Any assistance to fix this problem would be much appreciated.
