I opened Desktop Manager this morning in order to synch my Torch to Outlook. Up popped the notice that the upgrade was available. I followed the prompts on my computer and the update was installed in about 25 minutes. No hitches at all. I'm glad that AT&T came through with this update.
Only difficulty was that I failed to notice that the Torch rebooted with the radio turned off so I was not connected to AT&T network. I went out for about 30 minutes and wondered why I wasn't getting some email that I knew should come in. I then noticed that the radio was not turned on. So, the moral of the story is to PAY ATTENTION! - 04-16-2011, 11:10 AM #5
Does an offical OS have a break in period like some hybrids do?

I heard about this last night! Like I said in the other thread, I'm waiting for AT&T to push this one out OTA (Over The Air). Hopefully it doesn't take them too long.

Install modules stuck???
The update window popped up this morning on my desktop manager, so I clicked to upgrade. Now it is on the Install portion, but has been stuck at "Downloaded modules 546 of 563" for nearly an hour! I doubt this is normal, right??
I'm afraid to unplug it and start again. Any suggestions??? - 04-16-2011, 05:16 PM #11
I downloaded the official OS from the DM this morning at 0535 central time. The only thing that I had to do was reactivate Berry Weather. No glitches so far. I'm not that technical when it comes to OS updates, what improvements were we to see in this update?

Jeebus ATT no 9700 luv? Im SO trying not to go Android. I had the Atrix and wasnt impressed, I want some OS6.0 luv w/o buying a new handset. Playbook will likely keep me satisfied but if Verizon comes out with that new BB touch fone I'M OUT.

That Atrix 4G wasn't much after all the hype. Not to mention Motorola's OS/UI known as Motoblur is just horrible! I've tried the Droid X and the HTC Inspire 4G, each for 30 days. Androids don't even receive notifications in a timely manner but that's if you're even lucky enough to receive a notification in the first place. Yuk...
