It's pretty much certain this will be a GSM phone right?

Quit your whinning! Ha just kidding. At&T coverage sucks though, not to mention GSM will soon be at its limits on the amount of users it can handle.

If the slider goes to Verizon also, then GSM carriers should get the Storm series.

To further clarify, Telus uses a CDMA2000/EV-DO network, as does verizon AFAIK, and based on your statement. Sorry, I'm not seeing your misunderstanding here. You are saying that Telus does not have CDMA2000? They in fact do have CDMA2000 as well as an HSPA network (an overlay of the CDMA2000 network). So, yes it is the "same CDMA" as Verizon.

OP was referring to HSPA as a CDMA network, and by convention on these forums CDMA refers to CDMA2000, which is not what HSPA is, which is the only thing I'm talking about.

I have no problems with my current Tour. Guess I'll get the CDMA Bold on Verizon whenever it is released. Not too many upcoming BB's on Verizon that I'm hearing. I do hope the CDMA Bold gets upgraded to 6.0 OS.

I can't wait til this phone comes out. Since they haven't made the Storm available to all carriers but hey must be happy with what we have now and wait til this baby comes out..
