Hi, i'm new and i got a newbie question.

I've just bought a torch 9800 and the carrier logo when i boot it its pretty annoying. I would like to uninstall my carriers OS and install an entire new OS without their logo and stuff. Any help?

Hey Zach7, thanks for the answering!

I've already updated my OS but the carriers logo is still there. :<

The carrierrs logo is built into the phone for sales through them. The only way I've seen them disappear is when you unlock the device.

Here is a thread that speaks about the legality as well with carrier logo removal.

Unlocking the Device will not remove the carrier's logo. to remove the carrier's logo requires having it debranded, and from what i have read, it is quite the ordeal, possibly illegal, and will definitely void your warranty...

And if you try it on the newer devices it is EXTREMELY LIKELY to brick the device.
