Exclamation Icon issues

Someone please help me, sometimes when i exit my bbm all of the icons on my home screen disappear and i have to restart my phone to get them back. I will restore my phone but i do not want to lose all of my contacts on bbm or on my phone. Please help me!

I'd go into BBM options, and set up remote backup to email, a local backup, along with making a backup through Desktop.

I wouldn't restore the phone though. Instead, try downloading the latest OS, and upgrade. Sounds like you have a corrupt file in the system. Unless.......

Did you install a 3rd party theme?

I do have some themes installed but i do not use them. And my phone is upgraded to the latest OS. And im not sure if i have a corrupt file, please advise me on how to find out if i have a corrupt file.

So you're running 6.0.0.706? You would see an error in your event log usually, if there's a corrupt file, but not necessarily. Downloading/installing the OS on your PC again, and running loader.exe would replace it if corrupt. How was the OS installed in the first place?

Noo i am running 6.0.0.600(6.0 bundle 2647) how do i update to the latest? And also how do i check my event log?

i think there is a corrupt file, it says,"E Podcasts-BBRequest Error:net.rim.device etc." What should i do now?

Run an upgrade. Here's the link to the 706 thread. Instructions for installation are on post #5.

I did everything it said but the loader said that no actions were needed and on my torch it still said the version was 6.0.0.600, i dont know what to do now.

Did you use the app to remove all the vendor.xml files from the PC, after downloading and installing the OS on the PC? You've missed a step somewhere.

No i did not use any app, i just deleted the vendor xml from the AppLoader folder. But I am confident i installed the OS properly.

There's another vendor.xml file on your PC, and finding it can be difficult, hence the suggestion to use the app.
