Anyone know where these files with names like "20120227-124900-209_00.txt" are coming from? Looking inside the files they look like BB Appworld logs, related to AppWorld's connection attempts. I get 5 or 10 per day, each one named for the date and time. How can I make it stop? These things are 8 kB a piece, and deleting them is a real pain.

    where are they located?
just giving us a file name doesnt help
we can obviously see that it starts with a date.

Sorry for the poor info. The files are here:
    \Device\home\user\appworld\logs\
I didn't know that til just now, because I was looking at them in the BB Files app, under "All Files".

I will paste some of the text below (snipped, since I don't know what info is hidden in that hex code):

    [2012-01-26 04:13:01.147][INFO]Connection Method: WIFI : 80bba47723dae059a32abfff7844cea89fbb7bc1e90e3ed815 9e626b8427aeac825047d8b3

    [snip]

    [2012-01-26 04:13:01.848][INFO]AppStoreConnection: HTTP 200 , Content-Length: 2380~
    [2012-01-26 04:13:02.079][INFO]Connection Method: WIFI : 80bba47723dae059a32abfff7844cea89fbb7bc1e90e3ed815 9e626b8427aeac825047d8b3

So that is pretty much what they all look like. And now I did notice they are different sizes. Some 10KB, some 16KB, and some are actually empty.

I looked for an option to control logging but haven't found it.

    Thanks.

Here's a text sequence of interest:

    [2012-01-26 04:13:03.200][INFO]AppStoreConnection: HTTP 200 , Content-Length: 4123~
    [2012-01-26 04:13:03.290][INFO]Setting Update Avail group property~
    [2012-01-26 04:13:03.299][INFO]ApplicationContent.upgradeCurrentBundle() BlackBerry Traffic, 3.0.0.389 to 3.0.1.21~
    [2012-01-26 04:13:03.336][INFO]Connection Method: WIFI :

It's checking for updates. Fine, but I don't want all these log files! Hopefully there's a solution.

    Thanks.

I honestly don't see the big deal. I'm pretty sure every BlackBerry phone has the same log files.

In that case there ought to be a limit to the number of files, or at least a method to clear logs, but can't find a setting for it. IMO, this is not an acceptable practice in any software environment.

I just looked at mine today, and they go back to December 22. Maybe it is limited to ~2 months worth of files? Or maybe that is when I last installed an OS -- can't remember.

I don't know, I wish I had paid attention to the date before I deleted them the first time. This might have started with an update to App World, for which there have been several in recent months.

I checked the files just now, and my phone generated FIFTEEN of these logs today.
