Question I used to like my phone..

My phone is SO slow! I get super frustrated with it all the time. It takes about 5-10 mins to do the initial boot. When I'm writing out text messages I can write out a paragraph and then I have to wait about 2 or 3 minutes for the message to actually write out on the screen. It takes about 10-15 seconds to open and close bbm/facebook nd other apps. I have deleted all my applications that i had installed. I have to pull my battery about twice a day and it speeds up just a little bit. I have cleared the logs, checked to see if there were any applications using up a lot of memory, deleted browser cache etc. I used to love this phone it was fast and did what i wanted, now it takes a lot of effort to not smash it off the ground. Can anyone help me out here in speeding it up? I tried searching the forum but couldnt find a lot on this other then what I have already tried, any help is greatly appreciated.

One more quick question, I have it paired with my 2007 Chrysler 300 so the car picks up phone calls but can i listen to music on my blackberry through the bluetooth on the car? Thanks.

Phone is a blackberry torch 9800.

Do you have a lot of text messages stored? I've heard this can slow the Torch down.

Clear the memory on the browser, do a universal search and find Memory Cleaner and click that.

Clear the cache off of any apps that you use. (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Delete all old emails/text messages.

If you're running an outdated OS, upgrade to the latest leaked version.

Make sure to delete the vendor.xml files in order to install it.

May I suggest a hybrid OS as well?

The one from OSBB is a good one.

Click here to go hybrid forums.

I have it and my phone runs at a decent speed.

Lightbulb Install a Hybrid OS

My suggestion is install a Hybrid OS, I had the same problem like you, my camera wouldnt start up, when I selected it. The files wouldn't get saved properly, battery life was pathetic, and the start-up took, close to about 7-10 minutes. With the hybrid os, all these problems have gone. And for the first time in last one and half year, I am actually using this phone with a smile. Other wise all I had was, I put my 700$ down the drain (no actually I got a valuable lesson)

Just get a Hybrid OS, and everything will be fine. Make sure to back up your stuff using BBSAK, and BBDM. Lots of good posts are available on crack berry, and Im sure you'll find your way!

My 9800 is snappy and running well. I have 70 apps on my phone.

I've had problems with lag in the past and it's always after some app was installed.
Ex. My phone was kind of laggy...long-story-short...I deleted Thrutu and It went back to running well.

It seems like some of those apps that provide a convenience (Ex. Thrutu) can cause lag.

You need to reload your OS.

It won't stream audio to your 300.

You need a newer radio to do that.

I did noticed lag time on my Torch 9800. But what I really find annoying is that is heating up too much and fast battery drain even having no apps running on backgound.

Couldn't find enough info on the leaked os. where to put it, where the vendor.xml files are. Don't know what I should install first on the hybrid OS, ie. v2.5 or v3, or where to put them either, theres not a lot of info on the processes on either. just links to download, and i dont want to screw my phone up more than it already is. The info may be there but it isnt easy to find.
