I've been irritated by a phone that takes about 5 minutes to get started in the morning after being switched off for the night. I'm going to be fascinated to see how the phone reacts tmrw morning when I switch it on.

Is Google maps a pre-installed app? I presume it is not the maps app that sits on the ALL tab?

Cool thread. This has transformed my bb. I use to get the spinning clock when I had my brokers live prices app open with another app.

I now can have 2 live prices apps open in the background whilst watching you tube.

Now, there is no more spinning clock.

Someone said its one of the best threads.

I'd say that too.

Gotta say thanks guys i've just switched off compression and noticed the difference straight away
Yesterday I had ''app 602 reset'' show on my screen for the first time it's working fine now I think, however much smoother since compression has been diabled on my 16GB sd card.
Cheers.

I know this is kind of an older thread, however, I just recently upgraded to a 9810 from a 9800 and also had the lagging, freezing, reset issues everyone else discussed. I checked memory and cpu usage and nothing was out of the ordinary (i.e. no apps running that shouldn't have been and no excessive usage from any one particular app). The reset issue was not a major problem, maybe once every few days, but the lagging and freezing were a constant battle ever since my upgrade. I have since removed my SD card, turned compression off, pulled the battery and reinserted the SD card...now I am waiting to see what happens, considering the fact that I have been pulling my hair out for a week trying to figure out what my issue is, and this thread describes the exact nature of said issue, I am going to see what happens with this. I will report back in a few days, but I can already say that I see a marked improvement in response from my phone even within the last 30 minutes. Thanks everyone for the input...hope this works.
