How is the speakerphone on the torch?

Also does ATT have the OEM blackberry case for the 9800 ?

I can't decide - it seems OK but definitely not as loud as my 9000. Clarity seems good so far. I'd like to hear others' comments on it as well.

Here's my opinion having owned 9000, 9700 and now 9800.

9000 is pretty much the holy grail for BB speakers. 10/10 overall.

9700 was very shrill and distorted on high volume for speakerphone use (or any loud use). I never used it. 6.5/10.

9800 has excellent speakerphone quality and I've been using it non stop; the clarity is great and there's actual bass response unlike the 9700. 9/10.

How would you compare the max volume on each? If my 9000's volume is a 10 then the Torch is maybe a 6 or 7 at best.

I'd agree with the above. Quality seems excellent on the speakerphone. I can't compare it to any of the later model BBs, but it certainly seems very nice to me.

Volume also meets my needs - not sure how loud you need it though.

Bold 9000 had the best speakerphone on any blackberry I have seen. The Torch 9800 does not have a bad speaker by any means.. it's just not as good as the 9000.

I don't understand why they did not run with the 9000 speaker on all devices...
