    Is it possible to mark and delete words I typed on the virtual keyboard just by using the touchscreen? everytime I try to mark and delete the whole word (not just character by character by holding the del. key) the virtual keyboard disappears.

    yes. Mark/select/highlight the word/words and touch 'cut' icon at the bottom left.

    I believe you can also highlight words/sections by using 2 fingers to simultaneously touch the beginning and end of that word/section.
