    Hi all,

I have searched the forums before posting this. I am on my second BB 9800. I adore this phone and BB, but if I can't get this thing running, I'm going to have to move to the iPhone and I don't want to.

The phone cannot and will not connect to BIS. I have sat for 2 days with AT&T and BB Support. Nothing works, including getting a new phone. Can someone please point me to the latest leaked OS6 version so I can see if that will fix my issue.

I'm at a loss here. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

Have you tried going under Host Routing Table and selecting "Register now" under the menu? It should be in the advanced options. This is OS5 specific though, but it's worth a shot if no one else has any ideas.

Try disabling the apn settings in Options > Device >Advanced system settings > TCP/IP.

Then re register the device. Options > Device > Adanced System Settings > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register now.

Then re send the service books from the email setup page

The OS Beta/Hybrid section is always a good place to start.

Leaks and Hybrids will never be listed in the 9800 forum until they become official

Why cant you get on BIS? are you paying for Data? Have they sent you the Service books? do you have proper service coverage?

    Good luck!@

Radgirl, here is a link for 6.0.0.246:

    Deposit Files

You better get it while you can - most of the other links are bad.

    Radgirl,

Many folks here have had (or are having) the identical issue.

I tried a new phone. That DIDN'T WORK.

I tried turning off APN (as some suggested). That DIDN'T WORK.

I tried battery pulls, soft resets, etc. That DIDN'T WORK.

I've spent hrs on the phone with AT&T. That accomplished nothing.

When I upgraded my OS to .246 and that seems to have fixed it. I've been going about 2.5 days now without losing BIS. And I am turning WiFi on and off as needed.

    Good luck.

I am on BES and just ran into this problem. I have had my Torch since AT&T released it on 8/12. All was just fine when I went to bed, but this morning, no data at all unless I connect my WiFi. The Service Status screen would show disconnected for both BIS and BES. I took the advice and upgraded to .246 and after turning off the WiFi, BIS and BES now show Mobile Network and data works.

A better fix. You don't need to wipe your BB.

I connected my blackberry Torch to Blackberry Desktop and deleted all wireless profiles.

I removed the battery for 30 seconds. Put battery back in and started BB. Done.

Mine connected with no errors or problems.

where does one go about finding these "wireless profiles" you speak of?

i seem to be having a little different problem as of today with BIS. I rely on BIS through WiFi while im at home since my house is apparently built with "anti-wireless, screw your wireless signal over, lol your funny for thinking you can use a cell phone here" specifications.

and now i cant get BIS via WiFi for some unknown reason. Wireless connection is fine with BIS however.

    grrr

Were these device purchased online or something? Take your phones to a store and ensure they are working in all aspects BEFORE you leave. This is really not that hard and besides sales why stores exist.

I'm now a week (maybe 2) out of return, besides I doubt its hardware related. All data functionality works fine... BIS is just confused...

I just rewipe mine and still can't connect. I delete all wireless profiles (on the phone, not via DM, not sure if it matters), still can't connect BIS. Build .246 here
