 tried upgrading my Bb messenger and the old one disappeared.any advice on what to do.

Well, all I can tell u is that if u have no backup u lost all ur contacts, to get it back u probably need to redownload from app world, or reconnect to ur pc and get the app loader, so do a checkmark on bbm to reinstall, hope I could help
