Hardware or software issue? 3G and "gprs" displaying
Hi, I recently purchased a secondhand BlackBerry Torch 9800, I have checked the IMEI and it hasn't been stolen or blocked. My service provider here in the UK, O2 have finally sorted out the SIM card, it doesn't work in my phone but will have the BIS available on other BlackBerry devices. I am currently recieving very mixed opinions on what the issue is, the SIM card is working perfectly on other handsets except mine. The network engineers say it is a hardware issue yet the instore techincal support say it is simply the PIN is registered to another network. Will see tomorrow if this is the issue.
What is strange is the if I set the device to "3G & 2G" is displays "3G" uppercase with no BlackBerry sign yet if I set the network options to "2G" is recieve "gprs" is lowercase. The network engineers say from hearing this it is a hardware issue yet the instore technical support say it is a network issue.
Hopefully someone can shed some light with this issue.
