Default Error with BB Desktop Software

BB desktop used to work fine (last week) but now I'm getting the following error:

Intellisync:
Error encountered. Error code - 0x8004fcd2.
Check documentation

I've checked the quick start guide and user's manual and they don't contain an error code (not a big surprise).

Does anyone know what these are for?

1. Battery Pull your device, reboot your PC and try again.
2. If that doesnt work try deleting the Intellisync folder in: C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Application Data\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync
or possibly in: C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Intellisync
depending on your PC OS.
3. If none of this works try uninstalling/reinstalling DM

Thank you! I don't know why I didn't try pulling the battery but that worked (and rebooting the PC). Phew...

Thanks, pmccartney, for the tips. After 1) removing the battery and, 2) rebooting the PC, I still had no success. So I went ahead and deleted the appropriate folder which took care of the problem.
