Default Endless startup loop

My precious 9800 Torch is stuck in some kind of endless startup loop. I get the black "BlackBerry" screen with the progress line at the bottom, and when it gets about 3/4 done, it goes black and starts up again. WHAT CAN I DO???? HELP!!

Try booting in SAFE mode and see if it gets farther along.

Try removing the media card. Sometimes an error on the card causes a reboot cycle.

I had a similar problem with my Torch and the only way i could get it working was -> take out the battery, connect the torch to pc, open desktop manager and start loading the new software while the battery is still out...during a point in the installation, insert the battery back while it wants to load the files on the torch and you should be through. but then you loose all data. fortunately i had a back up so didnt casue me much of a problem.

Hi there!

After trying to install Foursquare on my 9800,my phone is now going through a constant reboot. Is there a way to fix this without reloading the OS as I would be losing the 3rd party apps I have installed and unfortunately haven't done a synch in a while.Any other suggestions to get me out of this problem? Thanks for your help!

Things like this teach a person to get the habit of backing-up regularly - for any type of device

In your case I think you need to connect it to BB desktop software and reload the OS. Try the latest OS number - see above post

Installing a 'bad' app happened twice to me. It's most likely not the app but some kind of corruption that happens during the download/install process

thats what i had to do was reload the os with phone to pc with battery out and then at a crucial time i inserted the battery. the hardest part was getting the battery in at the right moment . took a few tries. then the headache getting contacts and all apps and 3rd party back on
