Whenever I try to call somebody, I can not hear the dialling tone or anything, however the phone I'm calling will still ring. If they pick up, they can hear me but I can't hear them?

Could anyone help me out please?

That is weird. I thought it might be your mute button but that works the opposite...if you call out, you can hear them but they cannot hear you.
