Only thing I did was use close up mode. Just out of curiosity, have you tried changing auto focus to single shot instead of the default Continuous?

That's the only difference in my phone, Close up mode(for close ups, obviously) and Single Shot mode for the focus.

Open Camera app > BB button > Auto focus > Single Shot

One more thing, bb usually shows green box when focus...thats not happening either! It remains white

Okay that's happening! Still no focus AND more interesting, can't zoom now haha. I can on video mode.
I'll try a battery-pull and let you know.
Btw, do you guys have any prob in video playback? Videos I record plays with lag. Others which I convert play perfectly.wasn't same with my bold :S

Nope, any video be it converted for playback or recorded on my torch play perfectly.

There have been discussed issue with the torch camera, but most is due to it being laggy when snapping pictures, or it clicks and the light comes on like it took a picture, but in reality it did nothing. haven't come across any of the issues your facing.

Out of curiosity have you tried reformatting your memory card? Some of the issues people are posting about camera were usually resolved by reformatting the memory card. Also i noticed you had a bold, did you do a device transfer wizard? A lot of issues people are experiencing are from using that also. Some settings don't carry over to the torch.

Can you still return it for a replacement? I suppose that would be my next step, or if you cant return it, make a warranty replacement.
