i was reading CNN and came accross this article <http://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/djf500/200809101538DOWJONESDJONLINE000828_FORTUNE5.htm> and noticed they said RIM was releasing a slider phone and a 3G pearl? Anybody know anything about this at all?
Sure, some BB-users may not be too ecstatic about the thought of a slider phone; but what would be so wrong about it?
If anything; the design of the BB Thunder strays away much more from the tried and true BB-tactile-feedback design. At least a slider form-factor would institute some aspects of a physical keypad.
The slider-model would be a formidable model in RIM's lineup. It would mainly be an added boost in the monetary sense for the company; as well as being appealing to a lot of users who find the slider-design intuitive and attractive. I personally don't see anything wrong with a slider-design; I mean if RIM designed a flip pearl, and a touchscreen-device...a slider is nothing more than a missing piece in the spectrum of designs.

I agree. One would think that with the introduction of the KS, and 95xx, that a slider would be in the mix soon. It would make perfect business sense.
I also think that this idea makes good sense. I mean I see sliders EVERYWHERE at my school. The kids love that stuff lol. I have never been a fan of them, but I don't think they stink.
Do you guys think they will incorporate a sliding keyboard and a touch screen like the Glide?

Dude, you're at a 10....I"m going to need you at a 3....All carriers have their own flaws and their strengths. The best way to deal with it is to accept it and move on....don't flame anything.
