Blackberry Slider
Just found this. Possible code name Talladega?
Analysts talk about upcoming BlackBerry slider | BlackBerry Cool
I'm not sure what to think about a Blackberry slider. That image doesn't really do it much justice. Hopefully, something more substantial will come out, and that mention of a webkit based browser, makes me happy!Firefighter/Paramedic Cincinnati, OH

I am holding out now. Of all the touchscreens I have played with I like the Storm2 the best. So if the screen is like that it will be a plus. I think they are starting off on the wrong foot if the go with a 3 row keyboard. Dump the track ball in lieu of the new pad. We know the browser is on its way. Just my 2 cents

Sliders are lame. Try the LG Env for laughs. They're a compromise at best, bricks at worst. The LG Chocolate was probably the best one. At least it was new back in the day. Now they're limp imo.

I hated the Chocolate, the little touch activated buttons were terrible, and the keyboard was extremely small. I don't like phones that you have to turn sideways to slide open, cause they're a pain. And I like candy bar phones the most, but I don't mind phones that slide down.
Edit: That keyboard does look terrible. =/I dream in emails. -Keane

I hope this new model comes out for T-mobile... My upgrade date is coming in a few months... Really want a blackberry! I like my Wing, but it's seriously dated... This would be the perfect replacement.

First off, that image is like 2 years old if not more. It has been around for a long time.
Secondly, if I remember correctly, the slider they have recently been working on is rumored to have a vertical keyboard (instead of a horizontal one) similar to the Pre. Hopefully it isn't as bad as the Pre's keyboard.RuneCryption - Unique memory game for PlayBook & BB10. - 11-16-2009, 06:56 PM #8
I would love to see a Pre-like BB, but with a Tour keyboard underneath.

They need something like the Touch Pro2 aka Tilt. That is a beast of a device - not a toy. Awesome keyboard, fully capable of editing and reviewing word/excel documents.
I love my ppc 6700 - but it seems like rim still doesn't have the functionality of that device. What's sad is how Microsoft just completely missed the boat with smart phones. What they had four years ago was amazing... but just didn't bother to get a decent browser or mobile friendly interface. Why would anyone want to use a stylus if you dont have to?
I would welcome a slider, you get the best of both worlds, full keyboard, full screen. Landscape is better anyway for reading/writing/viewing. I wouldn't want surepress though, they better revamp the OS so that it's not a necessity. That's why Surepress is even there, there's no other way to navigate if it was touch only. - 11-22-2009, 03:21 PM #13
Sliders are a bit cheesy. When I think of sliders I think of chick phones and sidekicks. RIM should concentrate on improving their current moves. Beside don't they have enough models on the market. They're watering down the market with too many BBs.

A BB with a TouchPro 2 form factor would be very nice IMHO.

If BB is going hybrid, I'd rather see a Tour2 with touchscreen. That was one of only a few gripes about my Tour.
