Try using the official release of .448 for Three UK. It's in the head of the forums, this might work better, do the same delete the vendor file and run the launcher it should run fine.

    This is the official release:
You can get 448 here from 3
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads...FA661ED1244039

    2. Do a backup of your device first, using Desktop Manager > Backup. Close Desktop Manager upon completion and unplug BlackBerry.

    3. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.

    4. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

    5. use BBSAK from BBSAK.org and wipe the device (after doing a complete backup)
then after you get the error 507 (no OS installed)
I did not do step 5 and it downloaded without a hitch. So if you have a problem by skipping this step, go back to the beginning and do the step.
    6. remove internet connection to PC and reboot.

    7. Plug in BlackBerry and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file was in.

    enjoy the new OS.

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs. Look for "BlackBerry Device Software v6.0.0 for the BlackBerry 9800 Smartphone". This is the current downloaded OS upgrade.
Becareful not to delete "BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0.1".

BBM groups and contacts are saved as well in a DM backup. Watch the screen as it tells you what it is saving. Launcher? You should be running the loader.exe as Admin (vista and win7).
