Default Backward install from .570 to 534

Before i updated to v570 i was running 448 had a couple of problems with that version so updated to leaked 570.
the problem i got with this version is calls seem distorted and i havent got the network options like WiFi only etc.but the track pad is a lot better.
if i want to go backwards say to 534 is it the same as upgrading to a higher version number or have i got to do some thing else to install the lower version like 534 or 448 eg.
534 is also official on the O2 uk carrier download web site.

Depending on how you upgraded it should be the same process.

If using the desktop manager its a no go. It only recognizes upgrades not downgrades.

If you upgraded via app loader then its the same process, only notable difference is after you run app loader it will ask if you to downgrade or do nothing and keep your OS intact. You would obviously choose downgrade.

Just remember to totally uninstall the old(570 in your case) OS from your PC, then install the new(old version number in your case)to your PC. Don't forget to delete the vendor file if not using your carriers "Official" version.

Great thanks for the info, will use loader and delete the vendor. My carrier uses O2 uk network so dont need the vendor file just the OS to run on the O2 network.

For me .570 is the best yet. A small glitch when the app screen fails to load the first time after reboot. Battery is good. Trackpad is fine. No problems with calls or music sound.

Well on all the other versions i have had the trackpad wasn't very responsive.eg.if i used my right thumb sometimes it would not respond needed a couple of swipes or if i used my left it would be ok.Now if this is due to sweat or what ever i dont know ,but i dont get this happening on the .570.its really responsive now which is great.
The call problem might be due to the carrier signal though.
I will wait a while to decide if i do downgrade to a lower version.
The WiFi can be solved by going into the engineering screen to get more network options choices of just wifi or give it priority or not etc.though this was on my official 448 so maybe being a leaked 570 i have to do this manually not sure.
However the info regarding the downgrade to a different version was handy to know.If an official 570 version comes out i'll use that.

You do know that a leak and an "Official" version are identical? Only thing that makes it official is if a carrier decides to release it to their customers.

actually, Desktop Manager does recognize downgrades.

    if you click DEVICE
    UPDATE
it will tell you that there are no updates, but gives you the option to click to see other versions.

    from there, you can downgrade.

i've done it several times this way.

The main diff btwn a leak and an official is the buggyness for that carrier.

RIM has got many different teams working on many different versions of the OS.. They send out different versions to different carriers, and carriers test them. If the test proves to be a less buggy system than before, they release it officially. If it's more buggy than previous versions, they don't.

Long story short.. Leaks are more buggy and that's why they remain leaks.. and not Officials.

You are absolutely correct when comparing 2 different version numbers, but if leaked .570 becomes official .570 they are identical. I was referring to identical OS version numbers not versions that remain leaks and are never picked up by a carrier to become official.

So I still stand by my comment that a leak and an official version(of the same OS version number) are identical.

On the other hand we have yet to see a leak that hasn't become official on one carrier or another for the torch.
