    My Desktop Software still says .246 is the latest version.

    What are you running?

    It it safe to install an updated OS from 3 in UK?

    not an aussie but a scot
    but doesnt matter yes its safe to run just follow instructions
    carefully it being an official is icing on cake however leaked os
    all are good so far in my experience

    As daveshiz stated, it doesn't matter what OS you run as long as its an official RIM OS. I personally liked .448 with BDHP 6.1.
