    Default Alerts all jacked up

I have searched and searched and can't find this specific problem. Ever since the software upgrade (I am running v6.0.0.526 Platform 6.6.0.195) I can't adjust tones for some people.

My husband and best friend for instance have been in my phone for years. Now I can't change their message tone to save my life. And even though I have it set to active profile their alerts still go off when I have my phone set to silent, which is always at the most inconvenient time.

I've changed the phone numbers to have no dashes, I've changed the numbers to be (000) 000-0000 (000)0000000 etc. I've tried playing with everything and I can't get their message tones to change, or their ring tones to save my life. And it's not just them, it's several of my other contacts as well, but those two I notice the most because they call me and email me and text me so much.

Any help? Anything at all? I'm going nuts. I know it's the simplest of things, but it's driving me bonkers. I even tried deleting them, syncing and reentering their contact info and no such luck.

select your profile icon(the one that looks like a speaker), then go to change sounds and alerts. Then check on set alerts for contacts. I'm assuming this is what your looking for. All sound profiles should be set to active profile, so they act in accordance with your active profile.

Have you tried taking ALL the punctuation out of the numbers including the parentheses?

I've done this. Sorry I didn't indicate so in my original post. I've tried altering from the contact edit, and the profile edit. Nothing.

Could be an issue with the OS, can't say I remember reading anything like this as a bug in that OS version. Considering it worked before hand and I can attest to it working properly on the newest leak(570). I skipped .526 for other reasons but did read the thread daily.

Perhaps that's just my only option. I will wait a few days and see if anyone knows the magic answer and posts it here and then I'll just have to upgrade. Ugh I hate starting over. Thank you thought for trying.

Starting over? If you do a proper upgrade only thing that you would need to do is reregister apps(input activation codes, for those that have them). Everything else should be just like you left it, with the only change being the new OS.

I love reading horror story's of people upgrading, makes me laugh. I've been doing it so often and long for my torch(beta test quite a bit) its down to 30 minutes tops including registering apps.

Searched around but couldn't find anything that matched my problem....

And that being my original alerts and ringers that came with the Torch are mysteriously deleted off my phone. I can't find them anywhere. They are just gone and I'm left with ring tones that I have downloaded or made.

Anyone have a reason why this would happen and how I can get my original alerts back?

I'm running version 6.0.0.526 on the Platform 6.6.0.195.

    Thanks.

I've thought about that, but everyone has had issues with the new software. And last time i upgraded I had issues with my current OS.
