    Default 9800 Super Slow

The other day I had an update request on my 9800. I think it had to do with "Blackberry Protect" After the update was done my phone became very slow and every time I touch the screen or change screens a little clock appears and takes a few seconds before changing function.

I deleted "Blackberry Protect" but the problem is still present.

    Any suggestions?

I think the only update for protect was the user agreement.
Did you try a battery pull? What OS are you running?

I am assuming you are restarting the phone daily?
    what is your file free?
is your media being store on a memory card?

I would go and remove all unwanted apps and crap from the device, as well as delete all old emails and SMS.

see if that speeds things up

I am not very knowlegable on this unit. I don't know how to check free file and I do have a larger capacity memory card but am not sure if media is being stored there.

How do I check what programs are running in background?

To be a bit more specific, hold the BB button down momentarily until the screen goes black with a bunch of icons on it. That's your list of running apps. At least 5 will always be there - the browser, the home screen (the house icon), the Phone app (to receive calls, of course), BlackBerry Messanger, and the Messages app (to receive pushed email and other notifications). Those apps alone shouldn't be causing any problems for you. Although, the browser could he a problem if you switched out of it while a busy page was still running. But you have to task-switch out of the browser to do that. If you back out normally, or hold the back button down to close out, that should close any page you're in.

Beyond that, it's any other apps that may be running that we are interested in knowing about.

    Thanks Guys:

I found two other programs running: Google Map and PhoneRemote. When I closed them everything went back to normal.
