hello, I'm having the same problem you had with my bb torch. would you be kind enough to explain in greater detail what you did to fix you blackberry as this explaination isn't that clear to me.
which flat cable did you change(what is the part number or can you post a picture of it)?
what filters were you referring to?

just change the black filter ic near the usb connector your problem will solve...

I would take this solution with a grain of salt. Op has been asked several times in different threads on what the black filter is and exactly where to buy it. None of which have come with a response.
This also requires you to take apart the device which also voids your warranty.Cell Phone History:Motorola Bag phone > Motorola Star Tac gen1 > Motorola Star Tac gen 2 > Motorola Razr > BlackBerry Pearl(8110) > Iphone gen1 > BlackBerry Curve(8310 Red) > BlackBerry Torch(9800 Black) > BlackBerry Torch II(9810 Gunmetal Silver) > BlackBerry Bold 9900) > BlackBerry Z10(STL100-3 Black)

I have the same problem, thought I narrowed it down to one of the speaker magnets. Does the filter have anything to do with magnetic feilds? Something I discovered, a Magnet in the center of the display will disable the display and buttons.

Hello leojclyn_02 i am from Argentina, i have the same problem with a Nokia N85, i want to know how a filter works (how does the cell phone know when it is open?) so i can locate mine and replace it. Any information about slide mechanism in cell phones would be really apreciated.

Tito, this is a Blackberrry forum, not a Nokia. You would get a faster and better response by finding a Nokia N85 forum elsewhere. The original poster has not posted anything in over a year and a half, and did not reply to other requests for details, so it's unlikely he will reply back now.
