My Biggest concern is also the battery

I really want to know what improvements they've done to the OS for optimization, they did write their own 3G stack which could really improve battery life,

Okay, well you asked a rather open-ended question...

the main issue is the screen. the pre had some battery saver focus but you can only do so much. touchscreens burn the juice, and with a small battery you can only expect so much improvements from.

I always invest in an extended battery for my phones as well as a screen protector so I doubt battery life will be an issue for me.

You are correct... those numbers are never correct, but they can be compaired to the numbers for your currecnt device to see how it will hold up for you. Especially if you are compairing the same brand of phones.

Seems similar to the battery life figures stated for the 8900 if you need a comparison.
