what is the purpose of themes?

I for one prefer the stock theme, I do however enjoy changing the background pics. When I had the 8330 I downloaded a bold look a like theme, lol, but that's about it

Me... If I get a good theme, I'll stick to it for a very long time. I don't really change much. Even the wallpaper usually stays the same for a long time.

it enhances the look and feel of the BB;sometimes we get bored seeing the same icons and wallpapers,that's where the themes comes into play.

It is all about personalization. You can make it whatever you want it to be. I personally like basic ones but there are so many options you can customize your BB to your own tastes.

To find something that matches your personality with a slightly modified UI and being able to express theme...at least for me. Functionality is overrated and useless for 99% of them. You can quickly access any apps/program just as fast with the dedicated menu(blackberry) button. People just don't like seeing cluttered icons I guess.
