Talking [PREMIUM] bbt's SLATE | fast and functional | 18 today items | hideable dock, weather

check out berryfication editor rezn's review of SLATE here!
bbt's SLATE by bbt Designs | Berryfication Theme of the Week!

    CURRENTLY SUPPORTING:
    85xx/8900/96xx/97xx/9000/95xx devices!

I got time to finish my newest theme, SLATE!

It's got some pretty unique features I think youll enjoy, and was entirely handcoded, so even with all the moving elements (like the today area) and icons on the homescreen, SLATE runs incredibly smooth.
    some unique features:
full landscape support on storm os5.0!
8 icon sliding, hideable dock + 1 slot for weather next to the clock
    customizable and wallpaper friendly
hide weather slot, dock, today area via shortcut keys
options panel that allows you to customize or hide banners (see navigation preview below)
available with os6 icons or custom icons (see screens)
    no transitions
handcoded svg for optimal performance, no lag, just smooth
    So here is SLATE!

There are 8 shortcuts on the homescreen (use the caps key for letters):
    • N = BBM
    • M = Messages
    • $ = SMS/MMS
    • L = Profiles
    • @ = Connections
    • Spacebar = Slot 10 in application list
    • K = Calendar
    • O = Options

    And homescreen feature shortcuts

    • * shows dock, # hides it
    • Z shows weather icon, X hides it
    • + shows options panel, # or * hides it
    • G shows today area, H hides it (Calendar<-SWIPE->Messages<-SWIPE->SMS/MMS)

And SLATE comes in multiple versions, to fit your needs!

    • Blacked out with original icons
    • Normal with original icons
    • Blacked out with OS6 icons
    • Normal with OS6 icons

    Links are up!

let me know what you think!
And feel free to post screenshots!

    Enjoy!
    bbt

great! slate runs just as smooth as metro, i made sure to compress everything and handcode the svg so the size is as small as possible. hope you enjoy the theme

to hide the calendar you press Caps+H and to show it Caps+G. * shows the dock and # hides the dock. check the mobihand product page for further instructions

    hope that helps!

    thanks again

hey everyone! 8300 versions are being more difficult than i expected (because of the banner items - not sure I will be able to do a hidden dock, sorry about the delay, I am still figuring out what to do with it.

but I thought I'd let you know that Slate is going to be on sale for 3.99 through to next week!

    enjoy!

Whenever I press the G key on the home screen my Google talk pops up, how do you disable that feature? I really like this theme but that is a pain in the a**.

Default A couple of small bugs ?

    Hi

Great theme - best Today theme I have used.

A couple of observations that may be bugs (OS6 White version on a 9700 using 5.0.0.545):
    - seems to stop Berry Buzz (3.1.1.12) working - i.e. no longer flashing red when new messages arrive.
    - SMS Today screen doesn't actually list the messages just a count in the header (frankly I'd get rid of this Today screen and have all messages combined anyway)
    - a suggestion - widen the Subject in calender Today when there is a location - the location squeezes the Subject.

    Otherwise its a ripper !

    Cheers

I am still thinking about giving it a try. I am just not comfortable putting out a buggy theme, and from what I hear the beta of TB6 is still not entirely stable.

unfortunately that is a limitation on storm devices (RIM designed it that way). as a developer i really have no control over that

I don't know about google talk, perhaps there is something in its settings where you can disable the shortcut? If not, you can set "Dial from homescreen" in your blackberry settings (phone options - general options) to enabled. This should eliminate the conflict.

glad to hear youre enjoying the theme! i would say there is no reason or way that a theme could conflict with an application's functions. But perhaps try a battery pull, and see if that fixes it. messages only show when they are unread, that is just a function of the device, not under my control. and ive noticed that about the calendar items. i dont know why that is (i cant make the subject or location area wider or shorter, so it must just be the device)

    hope that helps!
thanks for the feedback all, i hope you continue to enjoy the theme!

Hey, I just won your theme. Great theme, lots of shortcuts. But I noticed that in the message and sms/mms menus, the icon is somewhat cut off. Also, I can't find the option to change the transparency of the Dock.

    hey ivan, congratulations!
glad to hear you're enjoying the theme

im not really sure what you are referring to, would you be able to email me at bbtdesigns@gmail.com with a screenshot and a little more detail?

i will be able to troubleshoot with you much easier through email
also to change transparency, hit the alt key and then the "O" key, (+), which will bring up the options panel, there you can change opacity and tint or disable the banners.

    hope that helps!

    regards,
    bbt

Hey when I unlock my phone, you can see the sms/mms today menu items. Once you move the focus icon it disappears so it's not really a big deal, but it's a little annoying.

hey ivan, i checked it out and sent you an email
it seems to be specific to the app you're using (screenmuncher), because it seems to be using it's own font that is conflicting with the size of the font within the theme

unfortunately this is out of my control. any theme that has a hideable today will have this issue, its something to do with the device itself. but you can as you said just hide it when that happens, you can also press capsH to hide it

    hope that helps,
