I think you're wrong about that. It was always merely "expected":

very interesting perspective..... so its either that RIM is one heck of a poker face on this one (still Feb but theyre not showing it), or things are worse than I thought and everything is delayed.

at DevCOn last week, were the OS2 versions on display stable and polished (especially email) or buggy as heck? I think this is the strongest indicator if OS2 gets delayed or not

DM updates came 14Feb (Tuesday) !!!!

BBBridge updates will come 17Feb (Friday)

PB OS2 will come 20Feb (Tuesday)

PB OS2 Press release will come 21Feb (Wednesday)

NOTE: 20Feb (Monday) is a US National Holiday-President Day. RIM will not announce on that day since it will be a 'slow news day'.

Retail promos will come 24Feb (Friday) as planned by major retailers, like Best Buy, for a weekend sales push

I think people have the right idea so far: Bridge will come out first, along with probably an update to Desktop Manager for both Mac and PC. DM may not get its update until the day before OS 2.0 launch, though, where as Bridge could be anywhere from now until literally hours before the push out of 2.0.

I think you've got that basically right (worth noting that the 20th is a holiday in Ontario, too).

The only fly in the ointment today is this notification on the extension of the "Free Playbook" developer offer to March 2nd; still no clarification yet as to whether this has any impact on 2.0 release date.

It doesnt make sense to postpone it 2 days. Just would push the release to the 29th. However they stated this would be due to the number of apps being submitted, didnt reference the OS at all. To me 1500 apps since this promotion was announced means two things. 1, alot of interest in the playbook (free or as a platform lol) and 2, either alot of ported android apps or "crap" apps being thrown up there. In either case, putting free tablets in the hands of developers can never hurt.
