I was a long time BlackBerry user and I switched over to Android world. I was thinking of getting a Style but I don't know what to think. I'm with Sprint so my only other option is the Bold or Curve. What is the overall opinion about the Style?

Hey I am a Sprint rep and I definitely recommend the Style. It has a much better price point than the Bold plus it has all of the features of the Bold minus the world capabilities. If you dont mind a flip its a great device and I hardly ever see them come back. I think you would be happy.
I'm just not sure how I feel about talking on a flip phone again. Does anyone ever have complaints about it?
Flip phones are out of style. The style looks exactly like any bb but flipped. Didn't they stop making flip phones?
It has a lot of the same features as the Torch though and I can't get the Torch with my carrier.
I'd actually strongly consider one if it were available on AT&T. I like the idea of something as usable as a Bold that will fold up and fit easily in my pocket without worrying about the screen getting gacked up. I've seen nothing but positive reviews here, including from people who thought they'd never like a flip phone. I believe they're selling pretty well for Sprint.

I have the phone and I love it. It's very comfortable to use holding it up to the ear, if that's how you like to use the phone. Myself I usually use a headset because I like my hands free, but I have used just the handset. The speaker phone is also nice. The flip does a good job of protecting the inner screen, and it is amazingly sleek-looking when you actually hold it.
I had first decided on a Blackberry Bold 9650, but after two weeks of using it, I decided to go with the Style. It is a very powerful Blackberry, and yes it does have a very attractive price point. It is totally worth it.
I like flip phones, yet I always wanted a Blackberry. When I got my first Blackberry, a Curve 8330, I was kinda sad to put away my Lotus. When I got the Bold 9650 as my upgrade, I was very happy with it, but I kept looking at the sTyle. I exchanged the Bold for the Style, and I am totally happy with it.
The Style is the newest Blackberry that Sprint has to offer. That is the main reason why I exchanged the Bold for it. :)
Not **** dialing with a flip phone! Ha!
Seriously though, I've had mine since it came out and overall, I've been very happy with it. For me, the form factor is a selling point. It's very pocketable and the inner screen is protected from damage.
If I buy the Style through Best Buy it is $49.99 with my upgrade but if I use my upgrade with Sprint it is $324.99. Why in the world is this?
I had a tour when it came out and then switched to the Evo thinking "its powerful as **** and probably does everything better" right when it came out I got it. The browser kicked ***, but everything else was meh to me. I didnt like full touch so I got the shift. To me the way the blackberry works is just perfect and nothing can touch it. I don't download apps, and just the way the BB is set up (BBM is a major plus) is excellent. I love how the menus are, I love how the sms folders are, the calendar everything.
I have no idea! Get it through Best Buy anyway. :)
I lost a Blackberry friend to the EVO shift. Sad day! But she seems to like her new phone, so that's cool.
Yeah I traded in the shift within the 30 days and got the style.
you should get it. i had the evo for about 7-8mnths(loved it). but once a blackberry fan always a blackberry fan. since i got the style on friday its like the evo is secondary. i dont use all those apps and clocks and different pages so it wasnt using the full fuction of the phone. but BB 6.0 is nice.
I, for one, can't stand the flip design. It's the only complaint I have about the Style, but it's a BIG deal for me.
I switched to Sprint to get a better monthly rate and I had a Curve 9330 for a couple of weeks. I really wanted a Bold 9650 because that's what I had with my previous carrier. But when I went in to exchange the Curve for a Bold, the Sprint rep talked me into a Style, which was being released in just a couple of days. Unfortunately, I listened.
I didn't mind the flip style of the Style at first, but eventually it wore on me. I am happy with all the features of the Style because they surpass the Bold and the Curve, but those few milliseconds it takes to flip up the phone drive me crazy! I have come VERY close to trading my Style to someone else for a less advanced BB just so I wouldn't have to deal with the flip, but I've always chickened out. (And I even tried and EVO for a few days but that agreed with me even less.)
So I'm stuck with the Style and impatiently counting down the days until I can upgrade to a Bold or whatever is available by then.
Need some help. I currently have the Tour and am thinking about switching to the Style. Any thoughts? The camera feature is of no concern. Need a workhorse
I went from a Tour to the Style and its a great phone. The camera placement is annoying, but it can be avoided by holding the phone at the bottom and taking the picture by pressing the convenience key. It does take great pictures as well. As long as you don't mind the flip form factor (doesn't bother me as much as I thought it would) then you should find the Style to be a great upgrade.

This is the most awesome phone, ever. The more I use it the more I like it. I'm glad I didn't end up with a bulky touchscreen device, they may have the initial "wow" factor but definitely would not fare well in the functionality department.
i am in a similar boat. I must upgrade by April 1, 2011 with Sprint's new premier plan changes and can't decide on what to get. Currently using a Tour, so the bold would be a good option, but it only adds wifi and OS 6 comparing it to my Tour. The Style on the other hand adds wifi, OS 6, and a better camera/video recorder (which i heard from many people and reviewers online). i just wish it did HD capture. I'm at the point where I think i will bypass this upgrade and just wait it out until october 1, 2011 and see what Sprint has to offer in their BB lineup then.
I bought the Style for two reasons: it had a larger screen (necessary for me) than the other BB's Sprint offered, and it is a flip. That, to me, means no pocket dialing and the screen is protected from scratches and dust.
I love the thing. It feels good in the hand, has good sound quality -- something no review even bothers to address anymore -- and works great. As for it being "out of style", I don't agree. I've gotten several compliments on it, which is nice, but I really don't care what other people think of my phone; I just care that it does what it's supposed to do well.
