- I have pretty much made up my mind to take the plunge tomorrow getting a new Style, well if Wally's still has one in stock. Just wondering if anyone has used the switch device wizard on this new phone/OS coming from an older 5.0OS (Tour)? I've used it several times with older BB's but never from an OS 5.0 to an OS 6.0 device. My biggest concern is transferring my contacts from my Tour to the new Style, everything else will have to be upgraded,,, Berryweather, Meterberry, QL....etc. I have DM version 6.0.0.40 which is supposed to work with the OS 6.0 so everything should be ok. Let me know if you have used DM for switching devices and if everything went ok. TIA11-22-10 07:02 PMLike 0
- Well, I did the same thing last Friday. I used the DM on my Mac to back up my Tour before I went to the Sprint store. When I got home, I plugged my new Style in to the DM. DM recognized that it was a new device, but the "Restore" button was grayed out and not an option. I just did a regular "sync" and my contacts, calendar, notes, tasks, and music were transferred to my Style. I had only a few apps on my Tour and I had to reinstall those that were still compatible with OS6.

I used the DM switch device option and it worked great, transferred all my contacts, calendar, bookmarks and settings just like they were on my Tour. Thanks for the help, you can't beat a BB for being rock solid for sure! If this would have came out a few weeks sooner, I really doubt I would have bought my EVO, but now I have have the best of both worlds for sure!! The best part was, with my 1yr upgrade it cost me $104 with tax at Wally's and I also received a $100 gift card so total cost to me was $4!!11-24-10 07:34 PMLike 0
