Style Dock and Usb Side port

I bought a Blackberry Dock for the Style and at first it would not work. Was fooling with it one day and low and behold started working and is great to charge my phone.
But now when I remove the dock and plug it in directly to the side micro usb port with the same cable I am using on the dock it will not charge. Also when I plug it into my computer it will not charge from there like it use to, and my computer no longer "sees" my files in explorer or for that matter does not recognize it is there. Worked fine pre-dock. How ever the blue tooth works and tells me to plug in my USB cable LOL.

Is there a way to switch them back and forth.

When I first dropped my Style in the dock, it too did not charge. Did a battery pull and tried again and all has been well ever since. Not sure if that would fix all your issues, but it is the first thing I would try (Battery pull) and see what happens.

I use a charging pod as well but I've never had any of the issues described here. I did find it odd that for some reason both my Style and my wife's Style aren't recognized by my computers until I open DM. They both charge on the computer without DM open, but I can't do anything else until I open DM. As soon as DM recognizes the phone then the Windows prompt will open asking what I want to do. If I put the phones sd card in the computer it pops up right away without DM. I can also transfer files over Bluetooth without DM open. I never had this issue with my 8330 or 9630... Maybe its an OS6 problem? Does anyone have a 9650 that does this?

Thanks the battery trick did it, computer communicates with it now wanted to load a train horn for a ring tone for a special individual

I have an 8330, 9650, 9800 & my 9670. Never had any issue like that. All are on OS 6 except the 8330

If you plug it into your computer closed it will just charge. If you flip open your phone after you plug it in it will give you 3 options to choose... USB.. Charge Only.. and I think Sync.. If you choose USB it should be recognized without opening DM.

I've opened the phone after plugging in the usb in the past and it didn't do anything. I must've waited too long to open it because I just opened the phone before plugging it in and left it open as I plugged it in and sure enough I got the 3 options... Cant believe I never thought to do that before! haha Thanks!

with the Blackberry style 9760 - I notice that you must have the phone open in order to choose USB, SYNC, CHARGE - sometimes it may take several tries by pulling out the cord and putting it back into the phone before it gives you the choice -

Does anyone know if there is a way to bring up the choice easier
