I just installed the official release of the update on my Style. Everythings good except that I went from around 217 MB free down to 165 MB free memory. Is this to be expected? That's a big drop in memory. Is there something that I need to do to restore the memory? I've done the battery pull and that didn't help...

    Thanks

My memory went to 187MB. The update was 41MB so that makes sense if I had 220MB prior to the update.

But wouldn't some of memory have been made up by overwriting the old OS? I didn't check the size of the original OS before I updated so I don't have a reference for how much bigger the new one is.

from 233.3 to 227.3. i updated mine with blackberry desktop. it seemed like the OS was uninstalling then reinstalling with .407 on top, or maybe that was just the BBD backing up my ****. which method did you all update with?

I too lost my memory by updating OTA. Maybe the desktop upgrade removes the old OS and OTA stores the old OS? So if that is the case, how do I go about removing the old OS? I

Try these links, they give a couple of different was to back-up, and wipe your device so then you can do a clean install of the OS.
I've been running the leaked .407 since it dropped, and I've had a slight memory leak over 3-4 days, but nothing like what has been described above. I have never done an update to my OS OTA, so I dont know if thats the issue or not.

    I hope this helps!!

I'm a Sprint employee and Style user. I updated last night OTA. Today I have 216+Mb for App storage. I did not record avail mem before the update. It sounds like you have something else taking up some app memory as the update is not effecting everyone's app storage the same way. I will continue monitoring this forum for other comments and experiences and pass relevant info back to the dev and support teams.

It may be something else eating my memory, but it is suspect that the memory dropped right after installation. In my Application management under memory, it is showing 188.3 mb used for BB 6.0.0 System Software. Again, I don't know what the size was before I installed the update, but the download was only like 41 mb?

Guys -.- Go to the place in which you did your OTA update and delete the backup file -.- I had this problem when I updated but after I deleted my Backup file (to go back to the Old OS if you didn't like the new Update), the free memory went back up

    Options>Software Updates> *DELETE BACKUP FILE*

I'm going to do a clean wipe tonight and try installing the new leaked OS .413. I'll see what the free memory is after the clean wipe and then again after the install of the new leaked OS (before I put all my apps back on).

417? For the Style? Anyway the problem is solved people updating over the air are not going back in and delete the old OS. Ota is just a patch of the OS anyway rather than the whole thing.

.407 upgrade worked perfectly for me. Previously had the standard .248 default. I Did use BBSAK to wipe it and then Shrink-A-Os to remove all the languages, games and etc. But with the .248 default OS I would notice I would lose memory very quickly. I would go from 299,924 free to 297,136 by the end of the day and the phone would get sluggish. I upgraded to .407 without wiping or shrinking and my free started as 299,246 and by the end of the 2nd day is currently 299,234 So this update definatly fixed a memory leak going on somewhere. Yes same apps installed as before. Oh and I could swear this upgrade made my flip close better

Could you check if the .417 opens the tray by default when you hit the BB key, rather than having to double click it? I've heard that's coming in an update at some point...

First, I goofed, it's OS .413 and no, it doesn't open the tray by just hitting the BB key. You can open it by swiping all the way down quickly on the trackpad though.

I wiped and installed the leak and my memory went back up to 230 MB.
