Angry Default Ringtone suddenly overriding contact ringtones

I looked through the forum and didn't find any recent postings for this. Of the ones I did find, the suggestions didn't help the situation.

Last week I installed a new battery in my Style 9670. It fixed all the issues I was having regarding rebooting, shutting down during calls with absolutely no warning tone that the battery was failing and simply shutting down completely without rebooting.

I noticed the following day after installation that my assigned ringtones for incoming calls from contacts were no longer working. The phone is playing only the default ringtone. This is for calls only. Email tones, and text messaging tones still work perfectly fine.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that could have been changed somehow that sets the phone to play only the default ringtone and override all contacts' custom tones?

    It's driving me crazy.

I've tried pulling the battery, several soft reboots, removing all custom tones and then reassigning them again, changing the setting to "always," play that tone instead of whatever the "active profile," may be, and making sure my OS and softwares are up to date.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

I'm having a similar issue with my Torch 9800! At first it was only some custom message tones (before I replaced the battery), then it was all message and ringtones. I verified my software is up-to-date. I checked for duplicate contacts, checked all profile settings, I even backed up my data, wiped the phone, and restored the backup. Still having the problem. It's frustrating.

I have a Torch 9810 and this just started happening after I replaced the battery. Can't find any solution. Checking everything, pulled punctuation out of numbers - nothing works!
