| | Will the storm 2 have a click screen?
Anybody know if it will? I really hope it does because I'm not a fan of regular touch screens. I've gotten so good with my storm.

There's a ton of threads talking about the Storm 2 and its screen. If you look around this forum for maybe 2 minutes you will find what you are looking for...

I had one for a week and so did my wife and we both love typing on the Storm. I HATE using the onscreen keyboard of my Touch--too sensitive. Why in the heck Apple can't simply put a few milliseconds delay on the keypad is beyond me. As it stands, it's ridiculously sensitive so I get a lot of extraneous keystrokes. Not so, with the Storm. If RIM goes to a non depressable (sp?) screen, I'll not be buying one.

The problem is that the Storm's click screen is polarizing. I personally hate the click screen. It made the screen feel like a resistive touch screen, which i despise. Yet many others loved it (reminds me of the iphone, many love it and many hate it). If it has a plane jane capacitive touch screen, I will switch to verizon. If not, I'll be getting the Onyx.
But to answer the OP's question: there has been no official announcement, nor a leak as to what the touchscreen on the storm 2 really is.

Answer as of this moment: very few people (if any) who are not bound by NDAs know.
Soloman02, it's interesting that you mention resistive touch screens; I came from a resistive system (LG Dare) and the difference, to me, was night and day. It really is just a matter of personal preference.

I looked at the samsung instinct back in Jan 09 (before I picked up a used 8820) and did not like the resistive touch screen, it was horrible. I then tried a Storm (in store model that worked mind you), and while it was better than the instinct, I did not like it. Since my brother has an iphone, I can compare a true capacitive touchscreen. If it weren't for the fact that apple made the iphone, I'd buy one. But apple did get the touch screen right IMHO.
But like you said, it comes down to personal preference, and mine happens to be for capacitive touch screens like what can be found on the iphone.

Look at the Tour, no great leap forward.

You do understand that capacitive has nothing to do with if it clicks down (like the Storm) or not... so saying that Apple got it right because it doesn't click has no baring whatsoever on the principal of capacitive touchscreen technology.

I think you probably mean the iPhones OS... it makes everything run nice and smooth.
