Default Why does email take days to receive?

I've got a Storm 2 -- updated as far as I know (I regularly use Blackberry Desktop Manager and updated when prompted). Most of the time I receive emails in a timely fashion (from my local cable company email address). However, once in a while (the past 2 days) I won't receive any at all for over 24 hours, or I will only receive a few (when I check my email on my computer I will see a complete list). I haven't noticed if this always follows a low-battery induced shutdown, but yesterday's issues followed such a shutdown and a recharge. Afterwards I checked the connections and the mobile network is turned on.

I run very few apps, and often check to make sure I don't have multiple apps running in the background. I've tried powering off and restarting as well as taking the battery out for 30 seconds and replacing it. Does anyone know why this is happening? Thanks.

Try resending your service books.

I've noticed recently (past month or so) that when I turn on my phone in the AM (I usually shut it off when I go to bed), it takes much longer for emails received overnight to arrive. It used to be pretty much instantaneous - I'd turn on the phone and bam, my inbox lit up. But now it takes anywhere from 5 to 25 minutes before I get the emails. I've tried resending service books and reconciling the inbox(es), to no avail. None of the emails are really urgent, it's just a minor annoyance I've noticed as of late.

This can undoubtedly explain it better than I could. On your Storm2, you can resend the books (from the phone) by going to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (BB Button) Register Now.

Edit: In retrospect, that link doesn't do much toward explaining so much as it does tell you how to perform the resend. Try this, right from our own dear Crackberry!

Default Thanks!

Thanks 2xJ -- that seems to have done the trick. I'd never have figured that out on my own (have never heard of service books, and I would have assumed the word "push" would have been involved somehow...)
