Here is my latest convo with a Verizon rep online:
Kimberly: Hello. Thank you for visiting our chat service. May I help you with your order today?
Kimberly: Are you an existing Verizon Wireless customer?
You: Yes I am an existing customer. And I was looking for a new Blackberry. I was wondering if you had any information on the release date or price of the Blackberry Storm 2
Kimberly: No, we do not. What model do you currently have?
You: I currently have the Tour. I really wanted a touch screen when I bought this a month and a half ago. The Storm had too many bad reviews for me and would love to get the Storm 2
Kimberly: Ok, if you just got the phone a month ago you would need to order at full retail price.
You: Yes I understand that. Do you know when the Storm 2 will be in stores? will it be October 21st as everyone says?
Kimberly: You can contact customer care at 1-800-922-0204 to be added to a mailing list for e-mail updates on new releases.
You: Not to be rude or anything.... just out of general curiosity, if Verizon is releasing a new phone within the next couple weeks why aren't they advertising or allowing anyone to speak about the release of the phone?
Kimberly: We are releasing an android phone that is the only new release I know of.
You: No one has any idea of the Storm 2 even though the Sales reps in the stores have had training on them already?
Kimberly: No, we find out about them when they are released.
You: Ok now I'm confused. Because if you find out about them when they are released how do you know about an android phone if it hasn'y been released?
Kimberly: Because a sales rep that works with me showed me some site where you can view things about it.
Kimberly: unfortunately I did not write it down sorry.
You: Well I have seen commercials about the android and RIM has leaks of the Blackberry Storm 2 and the said they were going to release it on October 21st. Why is Verizon so hush hush about this phone?
Kimberly: Sorry to say but sadly its true I find out the same day as you. I do not know why they are that we like I said you can sign up for e-mail updates on upcoming phone.
You: No thank you. I know the phone should be released within the next few weeks since the sales reps in the stores have already had their training. But nevermind. Thanks anyway......
Kimberly: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless, I look forward to speaking with you again. Have a great day!
