unlocked storm 2 no EDGE

i bought an unlocked blackberry storm 2. i have purchased the blackberry package from tmobile. i have changed the apn settings using wap.voistream.com and epc.tmobile.com i have attempted to insert the service books manually using the crackUtil and desk top manager method. i have done everything i can think of the get my blackberry activated with my tmobile acount and i still can't get the edge in uppercase. someone please help.

Have you trying register host routing table ??

Is WIFI on and connected? I am running a 9550 on AT&T and if WIFI is on and BIS is connected through it then my signal drops to edge. Disconnect WIFI and I get EDGE back. If nothing else try turning all connections off then turn just your mobile network back on and see if that does it for you.

You can also try leaving the APN as the vzw3g one. I've read that if you keep dropping to edge that can be a fix.

You need to leave the APN unchecked totally.

Then in manage connections, mobile network options select 2g only.

Then register your host routing tables...

It will work then (after a few mins and possibly a few cyclings of your mobile connection)

I had this problem with the Storm and had to get a 3g SIM card before it worked. I now have a Storm 2 and had to change the Mobile Network settings.
The Selection mode is automatic, the network technology is GSM/UMTS and the network mode is 3G & 2G. I got this info in the directions when I got the unlock code. Hope this helps!

you say that you have made an try to install the service book, did it worked?
to me it sound like a service book issue, you can ask the carrier that you are using to send an update to your phone number then you will get it installed on your unlocked blackberry storm 2 device.
