Default Typing on the "bottom" row of touchscreen

I realize this is a longshoot. . .
Does anyone have any clever trick / workaround / autotext tip for typing more accurately, specifically related to the bottom row of touchscreen characters when in portrait mode?
Invariably, when I type "n" I hit "space" instead--and just keep rolling along until I look back to see a totally undecipherable message.
Other than "be more careful", has anyone facing this nuisance figured out a fix, of sorts, for this?

I mean, you can't install a different keyboard so there really isn't anything you can do besides be more careful as you said. Maybe try the other orientation?

In portrait mode, the number button in the bottom left corner gives me a problem due to the skin case I have.

I always have to shove over the case with my finger before I hit the button.

Slows me down.

Good Luck

I find I can get much more accurate typing with my index finger than my thumb, although thumb is really the only option for one handed use. Holding the device in my left hand and typing portrait with my index finger gets good results, but even better if the device is on a table.

Default Bottom Row Blues

I totally agree with your experiences regarding typing and the bottom row.
I have an S2 and I use Landscape almost exclusively. For the life of me,
I cannot understand why the bottom row spacing should not be increased
to help avoid these problems. Doctor Neutron

I have never been comfortable using landscape.
I think it was from my old Palm days when I had a keyboard and trackball and was able to manage everything one-handed in portrait

Regardless, I think I'm gonna force myself to try it for a while just to see if I can handle it.

Good Luck
