Transferring Storm2 to someone

I upgraded to the new Torch 9860 (love it) and want to give my old Storm2 to my wife. What is the best way to do this?

The phone is 2 years old with lots of apps and is running a little slow.
Please very basic answers, non techi here.

Wipe the phone using BBSAK. Then what?

Or just delete the programs she would not be interested in and register with he carrier (Telus)?

Comments and suggestions welcome

I did search the various threads but just a little unclear of the best approach.

Make a backup and then security wipe the device, there's an option to delete the user applications, be sure to select that. No need to use BBSAK.

I only wipe thd device via BBSAK when upgrading/downgrading the OS.

Make a backup of the Storm 2 with Desktop Manager, security wipe the device in settings and register the ESN or MEID of the Storm 2 with her number on your account. The last step would be done through the carrier because you need to associate BIS with her line so she can email and BBM! If you had a SIM card all you would need to do is swap SIM cards and call it a day! Hope this helps
