Default Surepress seems to have died on my phone

Anyone have a phone do this?

The other day my Storm 2 locked up. Upon a battery pull re-boot, when the phone came back up and running, my Surepress function was dead. I can use the touch screen, but it won't "click" like Surepress is supposed to do. Personally, I like the Surepress feature and would like to get it back up and going. However, that isn't the biggest issue. Even bigger is that now the Power on/off button on top of the phone will not work. I can't use it to lock/unlock the screen or power down/power up the the phone. To turn the phone off, I have to go into the menu and hit the power off icon. Then the power button still won't bring the phone back up and running. I have to pull the battery and re-install it to get the phone to turn on. Very very very frustrating!

I've re-installed the OS twice with no luck.

Anyone have a solution to this madness? The phone is about 7 months old, so maybe my best bet is to return to Verizon for another one. Would like to get this one going though if possible. Suggestions?

the surepress function is dependant on getting electrical current. try to use it when the battery is out and no-go.

Not sure if that's it, but my surepress gets finicky when battery is low. and won't work at all when reboot or battery is dead/out. If you have a spare battery try it and see what happens.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it does it regardless of the battery voltage. Probably going to just head to Verizon in the next day or two and see what they want to do about it. The phone is still under warranty. This will make two Storm 2's in one year that have had to be returned for various reasons. I want to love these phones, but so far I'm not overly happy with them.

I've had to replace my Storm 2 4 times. I basicly just said **** it! The storm has problems. I've learned. If its something small, just deal with it. They work great for a bit...but, the shoe will fall. I just keep telling myself...just 4 more months tell I get the I-phone!!!
