Every carrier will want to push their device out before their competitor's so there will be a rush to market. Then, every carrier will be determined to release it for the Christmas season, so I doubt it will take past December 15th at the latest, ready or not.
Fortunately, I think RIM saw just how starved the market was for a touchscreen BlackBerry and how many people wanted a click screen that worked, so they've been working hard on the hardware end and will definitely have that right. As far as the software is concerned, well I think it will be a lot better than the Storm 1 release, but I suspect like most devices it'll have a few minor issues that require quick updates.
The carriers competition will rush them into pushing it out the door fast, so for this to work smoothly this time, the pressure is really ratcheted up on RIM to make it as close to error-free as possible. The carriers will not do their typical due diligence on this realease because of the timing. I will be an early adopter, and I'll live with the software problems and serial fixes. I *think* the hardware will be solid--fingers crossed. | I am so glad there are consumers such as yourself who don't mind taking their lumps checking out new products before the less "adventurous" of us jump in. I like to hear what's wrong with a new item before I purchase. I don't need the hassle of dealing with half-baked products. Thanks for being an early adopter--we cautious types applaud you!
