Question Storm2 and the coming LTE network

With Verizon supposedly launching LTE in 2010, is anyone worried about buying what seems to be one of the last premium 3G phones such as the storm 2? It would become instantly dated with the launch of LTE and whatever phone they chose to launch with it.... What do you guys/girls think??? Lots of speculation right now about a Verizon Iphone, or HTC Dragon, will RIM give us a jewel for the LTE network???

I realize that, but how are we gonna feel being stuck with a phone that is not any where close to what we are capable of with LTE, which is testing at speeds that make current 3g look like a joke, im not saying our phones will be useless but they will be a joke compared to lte

So wait to buy one. LTE I'm pretty sure we won't be doing full conversion to until late 4q 2011

Blackberries aren't even built to utilize full 3g capabilities imo. Some people will never be happy with what they have.

Actually the Tour, Storm and Storm 2 as well as the upcoming Curve are all built with rev a enabled chipsets. They'll all use full 3G

Complete LTE coverage from VZW is (according to Wikipedia... *ahem*) not going to happen until 2013. I guess you'd feel a bit left out if you're in an area that gets fully upgraded next year (guessing areas like NYC and LA?), but I think I'm happy with a non-LTE handset for twenty months.

I know they have rev a capabilities, but the browser isn't even close to capable of rendering fast enough to make 3g vs LTE an issue. None of the 3rd party ones are either. And don't talk about tethering speeds...all a faster tethered connection will do is drive you to 5GB even faster.

and I said utilize, never said they didn't use

a blackberry on LTE seems like it would be some amateur photographer with a canon 1d mk iv

That's what the WebKit browser next year is for...

No one will ever at anytime ever buy anything if they always feel they might have "inferior" technology. Storm 2 is outdated look at the Droid, no man wait till 2010, they will have a keyboardless version then of the Droid. No man, LTE will be rolled out by then, wait till the end of 2010 to get the LTE model Moto will have. No dude, Wait for a late model LTE in 2011 so all the bugs will get worked out. Dude man, that won't have the best processor, get the LG insert serial number here. Hold on don't sign a contract yet, in 2012, Verizon is dropping all prices 50% with new... See where this is going? You will, always at some point have inferior technology. My 2004 Canyon does not have the better engine of the 06, but I like it, I drive it, it gets my job done very well actually, even though it does not match an 06+

If I always looked for the next best thing and worry about what I won't have then, then I will NEVER get anything... I plan on getting the Storm 2, even though maybe I miss out on all the apps of an Android, because I Really want a world phone.

I know you're not complaining, but I try not to think like that otherwise I would never make a technology decision.

Found an article talking some about Verizon & LTE coming next year, in case you hadn't seen it when I put it on a different thread here.

After the way Verizon went negative on the iPhone with the Droid ad, you seriously think the iPhone will come to Verizon?? Vendors don't treat their suppliers (or potential suppliers) that way.
