i am using Seanrens V6 over .428 on my storm2 and i must say, its like a new phone. the screen is sweet (clicks easy, and is quiet), the OS is FAST, VEry fast, and the battery life is great. right now im meterberry, im averaging 2.6% drop per hour, and that is with surfing a little, using BBM, and texting, along with installing a few apps, and rebooting after i install the app....you should check it out. best OS/hybrid i have seen yet...

I just had my Storm 1 replaced by Verizon for a Storm 2 last week. Since it was a replacement I did not get a new battery, or a "new" phone. There were a lot of application memory problems with the S1 but I never had any kind of problem with the battery life. Now I do - Big Time. I plug in my S2 every night. Today I unplugged from the charger at 7:00am. It is now 9:32am. I have not used the phone at all and the battery is now at 80% - a 20% drop in power in 2-1/2 hours with no use. What's with that?
I have two regular batteries - the original one (1-1/2 yrs old) and a back up (1 yr old) that I almost never use, but will charge occassionally if I am going out of town. There does not seem to be any difference in battery life between the two.
BTW - I am still using the 5.0.0.320 OS since I just got the phone. Would that have an effect on battery life? So far I have not changed to a beta OS since you can't get BB Tech Support if you are using a beta OS. At least that is what the BB tech support guy told me.
Somewhat off the subject - some posts mention "conditioning" a new battery but I don't understand why since the batteries are lithium. I was of the impression that lithium batteries do not need to be conditioned and have no charge memory. - 03-30-2010, 09:04 AM #31
My first Storm 2 I had to return because of battery issues. It would deplete the battery in about 4 hours and always be very warm to the touch.

It is now 10:17am and I am now down to 75%. I have read one small text message today. No calls, no browsing.

I have never used 320. All I know Seanrens v6 over 428 is the best so far for me.

I've killed the battery a few times and it still needs charged at least once a day if I use it moderately. I make sure to keep all non-used apps closed. Interesting....

since upgrading from .451 my battery life has been horrible. Previously I had a discharge rate of 1.2-2% with moderate use. Now, with the same use it is upwards of 3% -usually more like 3.6. I have no idea what the issue is...no apps running in the background and I have the same settings as before.

Idk if this is a dumb thing to say but when I first got my storm 2 the battery sucked. But I played with the background light setting and auto sleep modes and I get my storm to fullfil my needs for two days no charge. I'm just saying play with the dim and auto sleep setting and you may get positive results =]

I went to the dark side and traded my Storm for a new 3GS...maybe I'll come back if the new slider is worth a damn.

The best way to get more battery life out of a Storm is to turn it off and leave it on the dresser and use a 9700 instead...

Battery life isn't great, but compared to the other touchscreen devices out ther it does pretty well. My wife has had a droid, htc ERIS and a palm pre plus. They have horrible battery life. The eris and palm pre plus are lucky to make it through half a day with average use.
