Default Storm 2 available for pre-order

Just saw this over at BlackBerryOS - sorry if it's a double post.

Blackberry Storm 2 Smartphone Unlocked at MobileCityOnline.com

Website says no ETA available. No way I'm shelling out $650 for an unconfirmed release date. To quote the site:

"The keys on the front are now touch-sensitive as well, and the screen no longer uses the SurePress technology, which made the display of the first Storm uncomfortable to use. The Storm 2 also adds Wi-Fi, but the other features are similar and include a 3.2-megapixel camera, GPS and a full HTML browser."

It also lists both GSM and CDMA (Quad Band). Keep in mind this claims to be unclocked. I wonder if someone pre-ordered and it didn't have the claimed features (e.g. WiFi) what would happen.

Seems like that is the storm one and they just guess features for storm 2. How could it be unlocked if it isn't even out yet. The pictures shown are storm one. No eta just means "We don't know when it is coming out so CYA" Cover your azz

This always happens whenever a phone is speculated to come out, especially when it's a very popular phone. I remember when the iPhone was due to come out, I saw it for sale on random websites for like $1000. I was like, "WTF?! It's not even out!"

This will always be something to expect I guess. I feel sorry for those who pre-order, lol. Always best to just wait until the device is actually out in the market, would suck to pay so much when you could have gotten it cheaper.

There is no point. People cannot install any device software to it.

Are they kidding? The onscreen keyboard was one of the best features of the Storm! I HATE typing on my Touch--it's ridiculously sensitive and I make tons of typos. Not so, on the Storm. If they do away with the click screen, count me O-U-T.

So they are sending them out with unworking software intentionally? Leaving the only ppl who can use them the ones who know where to download the os?

Every time we go past a Verizon kiosk at the mall my wife whines about not having her Storm. (I returned both of ours after 8 days of misery with the .75 OS). I hope the S2 has got a click screen, doesnt have memory leaks like our Storms did, and otherwise is an all-around improvement on the Storm. It really needs a proximity sensor, too..
