Spell check problem

So this issue popped up recently, and I'd like to know if there's a fix to this problem. I've been running .428 for the longest time with no real issue except for the phone being its normal self.

I've never used the spell check options and it was a bug introduced in .517 when you would go into the Phone application, leave it and then upon typing something everything would be highlighted in blue until you're done.

Never had that problem before, but with all the settings completely turned off for spell check, everything I type becomes highlighted in blue and I haven't found any fix for it.

Any suggestions?

EDIT: Before anyone goes on a soap box, I have searched through these forums and looks through about 10-15 threads created similarly to this one, but those steps take don't correct the issue. Really, I'm seeing if anyone has a different work around and has had this randomly pop up recently. I've also already wiped my device.
