    Default Price

Can we expect the storm 2 to be the same price as storm 1 when it first came out or higher? Has there been any sort of announcement about this?

Why would VZW place it at a price point higher than AT&T with the iPhone 3G/S. That just doesn't make sense at all. If you are attempting to reestablish your brand against a product that has wide market share, placing a higher price on it doesn't make sense. That's just not good marketing if they price it that high. I would say in the $199 range if I had a say, since that is what all new Berry's on VZW get priced at.

Excuse my ignorance as a Canadian, but doesn't Apple/AT&T require you to sign a contract with unlimited data and whatnot that can go into the hundreds of dollars every month? If the Storm 2 allows for more flexible data plans that could save me a good $50 or so a month, then it's already well worth any extra costs up front.

VZW does the same thing, essentially. Every smartphone must be activated with a data plan now. It's the same cost as the iPhone data plan - $30.

If I remember correctly, the voice plans are fairly similar, with a few differences in the extras - FnF on Verizon, whatever AT&T has.

So, essentially, by switching to VZW you're not going to save $50/month. You'll probably spend more, because I think VZW's plans are a bit higher than AT&T.
Scan the barcode for my Droid's PIN number. I recommend "Bar Code Scanner" since it seems to work real well.

    How do I Google something?

To be honest I have no idea what AT&T's data plans are. I have never had them as my wireless carrier as I have always been with VZW. All I was trying to say was that to attempt to keep the S2 (actual device) competitive with the iPhone 3G/S (actual device) they would have to have a similar prices. If they priced it above the iPhone it would be hard to gain market share against that product. Ultimately the choice is up to VZW and RIM. Anything that I say is mere speculation.

We have a winner! Should be the same as Storm 1. $199 w/2 year contract. $149 with NE2/2 year contract. Some were able to get another $50 off with the VIP program for a total of $99. I would expect the same this time around.
