Default Poor phone performance...please help!

I've had the Storm2 for 1.5 years now and I've not had any issues with it until recently. My phone will randomly (and without warning) re-boot itself. This has been going on for a couple months. I wasn't too alarmed by it until about a week ago when it re-booted and started moving extremely slow! It will literally take me 5+ mins to type out and send a text! The phone keeps displaying the ticking clock and it gets very warm. Do I have a bad app? Do you I need to upgrade to the new OS? Or do I abandon all hope for ever saving my phone? Please help!

I also have a Storm 2 and have noticed that I also have random reboots but I do not have the slow responses that you mentioned. I have Verizon OS v5.0.0.1015 which I believe is the latest official OS

PS: Jen you should change your profile since it shows 8330 curve

Just as an observation - I've noticed a lot of performance issues and I know someone else is suddenly having performance and reboot issues. This all started over the weekend. I'm starting to believe it is an artifact of the hurricane. I know a lot of towers along the east cost took a hit and I have to believe that it would affect network performance everywhere else. Sometimes network performance can affect the UI of the phone.

Just thinking...

That's an interesting theory. I just came on because my phone has been having the same issue. I'm trying to run a wipe but it's been stuck on "Erasing information... Warning: Do not pull the battery out until erasing is complete." for over two hours. I'm getting worried about what to do.

I've also had the phone for over 1.5 years and this is the first time I've had problems.

Edit: Three hours later it's finally gone to the white "wiping" screen. Wish me luck!
Edit 2: Now I can't re-setup my emails. It's only giving me the option for the corporate email type. Any suggestions?

Having similar issues of frequent rebooting during the day.

The Hurricane did present a problem during the event.

I had no power for 5 days. Landline did not work. After 40 hours or so cell phone did not work as the tower's backup generator had no more power.

More days went by and Verizon brought no portable power to the tower. Glad there was no emergency situation in the area as we were totally without any phone service.
